This self-paced, on-demand Oncology Certificate Program for RDHs TM will provide a registered dental hygienist with 18 AGD PACE credit hours and an in-depth review of implications cancer treatment can have on the oral cavity and how to serve as an oral health advocate on multidisciplinary oncology teams; for both the adult patient and the pediatric patient. Upon completion of this program, students will be more confident caring for oncology patients, speaking to and educating oncology providers, and working within integrated care teams, helping hygienists rise as much needed oral health experts in oncology.
Conducting a Thorough Head, Neck, Oral & Oropharyngeal Cancer Screening Utilizing The Cotten Method™
This mini-program (3.5 AGD PACE credit hours) is designed to examine the components of a comprehensive head and neck evaluation and increase confidence in performing this critical life-saving procedure. This course is based on the four science-based pillars of screening in The Cotten Method™ of screening; etiologies, risk factors, signs and symptoms, and the visual and tactile, extraoral, and intraoral evaluation. This course will demonstrate why the four pillars are essential in a comprehensive screening.Â
